Focus & Perseverance
Focus skills and perseverance helps children start tasks independently, maintain attention despite distractions, and keep going even when work gets challenging. These important self-management skills help children feel capable and proud.
However, it can be challenging for children to develop focus and perseverance when their energy levels shift, tasks feel boring or too difficult, or distractions are present. This isn't a sign of laziness—these are developing skills that strengthen with practice, encouragement, and the right support.
Through activities and coaching, BIGFeels NYC helps children develop their capacity to get started independently, maintain focus, and persist through challenges.
