Tools That Work.
Skills That Last.

We use science, empathy, and expertise to nurture the social-emotional skills that support lifelong resilience.

Our coaches have a minimum of a Masters Degree and use science-baked techniques that get proven results.

Our toolkit comes from a specialized form of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) designed for individuals who experience intense emotions. It is one of the most extensively studied and evidence-based therapies, supported by decades of research and backed by nearly 50,000 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Science guides us, but flexibility and personalization make our approach truly effective. Our personalized process ensures the tools we teach become lasting skills.

The Building Blocks Of
Social & Emotional Skills

Our evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral approach offers a complete range of practical strategies aimed at developing skills in four key, proven focus areas:

Emotion Regulation

Learning to recognize, understand, name, and manage one’s emotions in healthy, resilient ways. Building skills to understand and express emotions requires time & support. By using practical tools like drawing & role-playing real-life scenarios, children build emotional awareness and confidence. With consistent practice, your child will develop key skills to manage emotions proactively and strengthen their overall self-awareness, allowing them to navigate difficult situations skillfully.

Distress Tolerance

Building tools to manage and move through intense emotions and meltdowns effectively. Feeling intensely overwhelmed or out-of-control at times, especially when first learning emotion regulation, is completely normal—and moments of 'big feelings' happen. Fortunately, there are effective strategies for managing intense emotional moments without escalating the situation, even when it feels like a crisis. Rather than reacting impulsively (e.g. yelling, crying, or shutting down), developing distress tolerance equips children with the tools to pause, ground themselves, and respond more thoughtfully in challenging moments. One practical tool we use is creating a 'calm-down kit' for your child, which might include a cozy space with pillows, a favorite book, or calming music to support self-soothing during difficult moments.

Interpersonal Competence

Developing skills to understand others' nonverbal cues and communicate with clarity and confidence. Interpersonal competence involves developing the skills needed for effective communication & healthy relationships, commonly referred to as 'social skills'. Through our practice strategies, children learn to interpret facial expressions, recognize & respect others' emotions & needs, and understand nonverbal cues- such as body language and the importance of personal space. A consistent theme throughout our lessons is the importance of kindness, empathy, and helping those around us.

Mindfulness

Paying attention to what’s happening right now, without trying to change or judge it. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present & aware of one's thoughts & feelings without judgement. This practice helps children observe emotions rather than react impulsively. Mindfulness is a powerful tool for reducing general anxiety & stress, while also enhancing focus and attention to detail. One of the core techniques we teach is learning to pause & focus on the breath, with approaches that are accessible to children. This is a simple, effective way to stay grounded in the present and let go of worries about the past or future.
